Merry Christmas folks, and I hope you are feeling festive in the Christmas season. As we all know, Christmas is intense in every facet of your life. You have the children on their break, you have the food to buy and prepare. You need to decide where you are spending Christmas and with whom. There are the work parties and get togethers – and finally – the Christmas shopping.
We all know the story – online shopping is threatening the High Street. According to The Daily Mail, this time last year, the High Street Retailer’s sales had dropped 20% from the year previous. Amazon being the biggest culprit. The Daily Mail Article
Personally, I think the High Street will be around for a long time to come! At the moment, it seems that society is still coming to terms with the Internet, and what it has to offer. Remember the Internet is still under 30 years old.
Of course, make sure that your business is online. However, there are some things that bricks and mortar will always have that the Internet can’t provide.

Take shoes for instance. The first screen shows the initial search results. Great. There are 8 images of shoes. Imagine, I like the look of one of those shoes. I click on the image and I get to the website.
The shoe looks even better in a larger sized image, and views from every angle.
Finally, I’d like to know a little more, for example, what is it made of? Or what features does it have? So, I click on the ‘about more’ button. I find everything I need. HOWEVER, what do the shoes feel like to touch? How do they feel, when worn? At the moment the Internet has not solved the tactile problem.
Now take a look at the shoe display in this shop. You have numerous shoes, that you can pick up, try and feel. You have that Christmassy feeling! Your excited, and you can’t wait to give your present and watch it get unwrapped!
